Victoria Peak is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Hong Kong. Not only does it have great views from high up in the hills, but it also has shops and the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum.
Most people visit Victoria Peak by taking the Peak Tram, which is quite an experience. The tram climbs up the hill at a steep angle. You won't forget the ride!
In this article, I'll guide you on how to get to the Peak Tram station to visit Victoria Peak and Madame Tussauds. Here's how you do it:
First, ride the MTR train and stop at Central Station. You can catch the MTR on either the Island Line or Tsuen Wan Line. Central Station is also close to Hong Kong Station, within walking distance.
Once you're at Central Station, head for Exit J. This exit is near several key spots, like Chater Garden, Art in MTR, the Bank of China Tower, and The Peak Tram Central Terminus.
It takes about a minute to reach Exit J. Look for a sign for "Chater Garden" and follow it to an escalator. Ride the escalator up to Chater Garden.
Once you leave the MTR station, you'll be in Chater Garden. It's a pretty park with lots of trees and a clean pond, and the tall skyscrapers around make for a great view.
Before moving on, feel free to take some photos or have a break in the park – there are plenty of benches. If you want to continue, kust follow the signs pointing to "Peak Tram".
You'll cross a few streets to get to the Peak Tram Station. Don't worry about losing your way; there are signs every so often to guide you.
The walk isn't too far, but it is uphill. On the way, you'll pass interesting spots like the Bank of China Tower, Three Garden Road, and St. John's Cathedral.
After about a 10-minute walk, you'll reach The Peak Tram Station. There's a big black sculpture called "Eye of Infinity" right in front. It's a great spot for a photo.
