ION Orchard is one of Singapore's iconic shopping malls, home to many luxury fashion brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, and Prada. It’s a great spot for anyone interested in high-end shopping.
Besides the shopping, there’s also ION Sky, an observatory located on the 55th and 56th floors. From here, you get stunning 360-degree views of the city, including famous landmarks like Marina Bay Sands and beyond.
Best of all, ION Orchard is conveniently located and directly connected to Orchard MRT station. In this article, I’ll walk you through how to get to ION Orchard using the MRT.
The first step is to take the MRT to Orchard Station, which you can access via two lines: the North-South Line (Red Line) and the Thomson-East Coast Line (Brown Line).
If you’re taking the Thomson-East Coast Line, you’ll need to walk about 5 minutes after getting off the train to reach the North-South Line part of Orchard Station.
The Thomson-East Coast Line is one of Singapore’s newer MRT lines, and its station at Orchard is a bit further from the main shopping area, so you’ll need to switch to the North-South Line.
Just follow the signs for "NSL" or look for Exits 1-10. Once you reach Orchard NSL station, take the escalator up to the exit gates, tap your payment card, and you're all set to explore ION Orchard!
Once you’ve passed through the exit gates, simply follow the signs directing you to ION Orchard. Since Orchard MRT station is located right under ION Orchard, there are several exit options to choose from.
You can take Exit 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. Don’t worry too much about which one to choose, because there’s a clear sign that says "ION Orchard" right in front of the MRT gate, making it easy to find your way.
For example, in the picture above, I went straight to Exit 5, which is located right in front of the MRT gate. Exit 5 will take you to ION Orchard and also to Wheelock Place, which is across the street.
Exit 5 brings you directly to the B3 level of ION Orchard. If you’re looking to grab a bite, head down one level to the Food Opera, where you’ll find popular food stalls like LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles and Thye Hong Fried Prawn Noodles.
And that’s how easy it is to get to ION Orchard by MRT! From this station, you can also visit nearby places like Lucky Plaza, Wisma Atria, and Ngee Ann City.
