Terminal 4 is Changi Airport’s latest addition. Unlike the other three terminals, it lacks a direct connection to the Skytrain, posing a challenge for travelers trying to reach it.
In this guide, I’ll provide clear instructions on reaching Terminal 4, whether you’re coming from a different terminal or from outside the airport. This guide aims to assist first-time flyers from Terminal 4, ensuring a smooth travel experience.
If you are at Terminal 1, 2, 3, or Jewel, the easiest way to get to Terminal 4 is by taking the free shuttle bus provided by Changi Airport management. You don’t have to pay for this service.
To catch the shuttle bus, follow the signs that read “Bus to Terminal 4”. These signs will lead you to the pickup area located at each terminal.
Once you arrive at the pickup area, all you need to do is board the bus when it arrives. Some buses go straight to Terminal 4, while others may stop at other terminals first. The journey to Terminal 4 usually takes around 10 minutes.
If you’re traveling to Terminal 4 from the city or outside Changi Airport, you have two main options: taking the MRT or using a city bus.
If you choose the MRT, there are two routes you can take. First, you can ride the East West Line, get off at Tanah Merah Station, and then transfer to the train heading to Changi Airport. Alternatively, you can take the Downtown Line to Expo Station and switch to the Changi Line there.
Once you reach Changi Airport, the MRT will drop you at either Terminal 2 or 3. From there, you can easily take the shuttle bus to Terminal 4, as mentioned earlier.
Note that the MRT service from Tanah Merah and Expo to Changi operates from 5:20 AM (Monday to Saturday) and from 5:47 AM on Sundays and public holidays, with the last train at 11:50 PM.
If you prefer not to walk much around the terminals, you can opt for a city bus to reach Terminal 4. There are several bus routes available, including numbers 24, 34, 36, and 110.
These buses have stops directly at Terminal 4, so you won’t need to transfer to a shuttle bus as you would when coming from the MRT.
So, these are the different methods to get to Terminal 4. I hope you find this useful. Remember to always allow extra time for your journey when flying from Terminal 4 to ensure a stress-free experience using these transport options.
