Aside from ION Orchard, the Orchard area is a hotspot for shopping with several malls to explore like Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City, and Takashimaya, which is just next door to ION Orchard.
Wisma Atria stands out with its mix of international and local fashion brands. You’ll find high-end stores like Tory Burch, Coach, and Charles & Keith, as well as more wallet-friendly options such as Cotton On and Typo.
Down in the basement, the Food Republic food court is a major draw. It offers a tasty array of local and international dishes, where you can dig into Singaporean favorites like laksa and chicken rice.
Wisma Atria also houses a large Japanese department store, Isetan, known for its diverse offerings from fashionable attire and household items to unique Japanese specialties.
Similar to Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City features the renowned Japanese department store, Takashimaya. Known for its luxurious merchandise and high-quality products, it’s a must-visit for those who appreciate the finer things.
Conveniently, Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City, and Takashimaya are all connected directly to Orchard MRT station via an underground passageway. This link allows you to move between the malls without the hassle of navigating different floors.
Now, let’s walk you through how to visit these shopping havens via the underground passageway from Orchard MRT station. Ready? Keep reading to find out!
Orchard MRT Station serves two lines: the North South Line (red) and the Thomson-East Coast Line (brown).
If you’re on the North South Line, simply step off the train and take the escalator up to the exit. For those on the Thomson-East Coast Line, you’ll need to head over to the North South Line area first.
Just follow the signs directing you to the NSL or to Exit 3. Once you’re at the Orchard NSL station, take the escalator to the exit where you can tap out with your EZ-Link card or another payment method.
Once you pass through the gate, just follow the signs pointing towards Exit 3. You'll see signs for Wisma Atria and Ngee Ann City above and around you.
It's possible to head to Wisma Atria and Ngee Ann City via Exit 2 as well, but that exit doesn't link to the underground passageway that directly connects both malls.
A short walk from Exit 3 and you'll see signs for “Wisma Atria,” letting you know you've arrived. Here, you'll find a mix of food and fashion stores, including Subway, Starbucks, and Sketchers.
To get to Isetan, just take an escalator or elevator up. If you're heading to Ngee Ann City and Takashimaya, continue along the hallway until you see a sign saying “Thank you for shopping at WISMA ATRIA.”
Just past that sign, you'll walk through a door linking Wisma Atria to Ngee Ann City. Keep in mind, this door isn't open all the time; it's available from 07:30 to 22:00.
A few meters in, you’ll see the “Takashimaya” sign, signaling you're now inside Ngee Ann City and Takashimaya. Feel free to explore and shop at the various stores here.
Additionally, Takashimaya features an underpass that leads directly to Lucky Plaza across the street. This can be handy if you want to check out more affordable shopping options in the Orchard area.
