VivoCity is going all out for Mid-Autumn Festival this year with Sanrio Characters Moonlit Garden.
Running from 25 August to 27 September 2026, the mall's Sky Park on Level 3 transforms into an open-air garden filled with glowing lanterns, larger-than-life character installations, and immersive landscapes inspired by Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, My Melody, Hangyodon, and Pompompurin.
The celebration also ties into VivoCity's 20th anniversary this year, so expect a handful of VC20 elements woven throughout the experience.

As evening falls, thousands of lights illuminate six themed zones, each designed around the personality of a beloved Sanrio character.
The journey begins at the Moonlit Garden Gateway, where a glowing harvest moon welcomes visitors into the world of Hello Kitty and friends, celebrating the spirit of togetherness at the heart of Mid-Autumn.
Next up is Kuromi Carnival Kingdom, anchored by a towering 5-metre Kuromi inflatable perched atop brightly lit carnival containers. Here you can try six Sanrio-themed carnival game booths and hop on the Mini Express Train, with every ticket including a set of Sanrio character stickers.
At Cinnamoroll Secret Garden Grove, a 5-metre-wide Cinnamoroll inflatable stands at the centre, surrounded by lush gardenscape, floral arches, and lantern walls. This zone also hosts the Lantern Riddle Challenge, a Mid-Autumn tradition you can take part in to redeem an exclusive sticker set.
Continue to Hello Kitty Starlit Lantern Walk, where the connecting bridge across Sky Park becomes a spectacular lantern-lit passage by night, framed by towering inflatables of Hello Kitty and My Melody at either end.
There's also Hangyodon Moonlit Water Garden, a waterscape with floating lights and illuminated water lilies that shifts from a peaceful daytime oasis into a shimmering nighttime scene. A 5-metre Hangyodon inflatable emerges playfully from the water at its centre.
Closing out the trail is Pompompurin Mooncake Tea Party, featuring a 7-metre-tall Pompompurin inflatable perched atop an oversized mooncake. It's the most iconic photo spot of the lineup, set against Singapore's southern waterfront.

The installations are open daily from 10am to 10pm, with lights coming on from 6pm to 10pm. The carnival zone runs on its own schedule, open daily from 5pm to 10pm.
Carnival games cost SGD 10 per game, photobooth sessions are SGD 8, and the toy capsule dispenser ranges from SGD 8 to SGD 14 per game. A ride on the Mini Express Train is priced at SGD 10.
If you want to meet the characters in person, VivoCity is holding limited Meet & Greet sessions at North-West Boulevard, Level 1, near Chanel, on the following dates.
To get a Meet & Greet Pass, spend a minimum of SGD 80 in a single receipt. Redemption is limited to the first 30 qualifying redemptions per session, so arrive early and redeem your pass at the event area at least 30 minutes before each session.

Beyond the installations, VivoCity has also opened a Sanrio Retail Pop-Up at East Court, Level 1, near CHAGEE, from 25 August to 27 September, 10am to 10pm daily.
Expect a curated range of official Sanrio merchandise, from lifestyle products to sought-after collectibles. Seven two-metre-tall Sanrio character inflatables are also scattered across the mall for extra photo opportunities.
Shoppers can look forward to a few exclusive rewards too. Spend a minimum of SGD 250 across up to two same-day receipts to redeem a Sanrio Characters Toiletries Pouch, or spend SGD 400 to also receive a Sanrio Characters Foldable Umbrella.
VivoCity Kids Club members who spend at least SGD 120 in a single receipt at participating stores can redeem a Sanrio Characters Lantern.

Since the celebration coincides with VivoCity's 20th anniversary, there are a few extra activities to check out.
The TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair takes over Central Court, Level 1, from 25 August to 25 September, featuring close to 50 brands offering traditional and snowskin mooncakes, premium teas, and festive gift sets.
There's also the VC20 Mooncake Challenge on 12 and 13 September, and again on 26 and 27 September, from 4pm to 8pm, where participants get 20 seconds to pack as many oversized mooncake plushies as possible.
Entry requires a minimum spend of SGD 50 in a single same-day receipt, limited to 250 unique participants each day.
For a nostalgic touch, VivoCity is partnering with Food Republic to give out traditional Ding Ding Candy for free on 29 and 30 August, 5 and 6 September, and 12 and 13 September, from 7pm to 9pm, limited to the first 300 shoppers each day.
There's also a limited-edition VC20 x The Art Faculty Thermal Bottle featuring artwork by local artists, redeemable with a minimum spend of SGD 180 across up to two same-day receipts. For every bottle redeemed, VivoCity and Mapletree will donate SGD 2 to the Autism Resource Centre Singapore.
Sanrio Characters Moonlit Garden is located at Sky Park, Level 3, VivoCity, 1 HarbourFront Walk, Singapore. The mall is directly connected to HarbourFront MRT station via Exit E.
If you're planning a Sentosa staycation or just an evening stroll around HarbourFront, this is worth a stop before the Mid-Autumn season wraps up. Time your visit around sunset so you get to enjoy the garden in daylight and the full lantern glow once the lights come on.
