4 Top Spots to Enjoy the Garden Rhapsody Light Show

Written by Ganjar

The Garden Rhapsody is an unmissable light spectacle in Singapore, attracting audiences at Supertree Grove in the Gardens by The Bay. This show is accessible and free, unfolding each evening at 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm.

A magnet for viewers, this display draws a crowd every night. Many gather under the Supertrees, finding comfort in sitting or lounging on the ground. Arriving even a bit late might mean missing out on the best spots to witness this event.

From our explorations, we’ve identified four top spots that enhance the experience of the Garden Rhapsody. Each location has a unique vantage point to marvel at the show’s beauty.

In the following paragraphs, I will guide you through these four spots, ranking them from the most to the least advantageous for enjoying the Garden Rhapsody’s magic.

1. Around Supertree Observatory

Our first recommended spot is the area surrounding the Supertree Observatory. As the tallest Supertree and the focal point of the Supertree Grove, it sits at the heart of the Garden Rhapsody show.

For those without a mat for lounging, the seating area beneath the Supertree near the Observatory is an ideal choice. This spot is known for its cleanliness and comfort, perfect for a relaxed viewing experience. Take a seat that displays a direct view of the Supertree Observatory.

Alternatively, if you have a mat or are comfortable lying directly on the ground, any spot around the Supertree Observatory is suitable. The key is to position yourself facing the Observatory to get the full visual impact of the show.

2. From OCBC Skyway

For those seeking an elevated perspective of the Garden Rhapsody show, the OCBC Skyway offers a unique experience. This 128-meter-long suspension bridge weaves through the Supertree Grove, connecting the towering “trees”.

From the vantage point of the OCBC Skyway, you’ll witness the Garden Rhapsody unfold beneath the Supertree branches. This spot has an unobstructed view of the entire Grove. Here, the experience is enjoyed standing, offering a different perspective compared to ground-level viewing.

However, accessing the OCBC Skyway requires a ticket, priced at SGD 12 for adults and SGD 8 for children. Additionally, there’s a limit to the number of visitors allowed at one time. So, it’s important to time your visit well to ensure a spot on the Skyway during the Garden Rhapsody show.

3. Near World of Palms

Supertree Gardens by The Bay

Our discovery of this third location was purely by chance, during a quest to find the Jurassic Nest FoodHall. While relying on Google Maps to locate the eatery, we inadvertently stumbled upon a spot right above it.

As it turns out, this accidental find is an excellent location for watching the Garden Rhapsody show. There’s a walkway here that provides an elevated view of the light show, similar to the experience on the OCBC Skyway, but without any cost.

To reach this hidden gem, head towards the area known as the World of Palms. Once there, search for a pathway leading towards the Supertree Grove. Simply wander around the vicinity of the World of Palms, and you’re sure to come across this special spot.

4. In Front of Jurassic Nest FoodHall

The final spot on our list may not offer the best view, but it excels in comfort. Boasting a vast expanse of grassland, this area is situated right in front of the Jurassic Nest FoodHall, at the periphery of the Supertree Grove.

Here, the grass provides a clean and comfortable surface for lying down. To ensure a dry and pleasant experience, it’s best to visit when the grass isn’t damp from recent rain. For a slightly better view of the show, try to settle down in the grassy area closest to the Supertree Observatory.

These are our top four recommendations for experiencing the Garden Rhapsody show at Gardens by The Bay. If you know of other great spots, feel free to share your suggestions in the comments section!
