Marina Barrage is a notable dam situated at the southern tip of Marina Bay in Singapore. Opened in 2008, Marina Barrage has played a crucial role in water conservation and flood management.

Apart from its essential role in managing water resources and preventing floods, Marina Barrage is also a beloved spot for leisure activities in Singapore. It attracts both locals and visitors who come to enjoy time with their loved ones.

Visitors often indulge in picnics, spreading out mats to relax in this area. I had the pleasure of experiencing this myself. The combination of fresh air and picturesque views creates an ideal setting in the afternoon.

Located on the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) marked by its brown line code, Gardens by the Bay station is one of the newest additions to Singapore's MRT network. To reach the station, follow these simple steps:

  1. Board the Thomson-East Coast Line MRT and alight at Gardens by the Bay station.
  2. Once there, take Exit 1.
  3. After exiting, turn right to head towards Marina Barrage.

The exit of Gardens by the Bay station stands out with its nature-themed decorations, similar to those at Bayfront station's exit in the same area.

As soon as you leave the station, Marina Barrage is visible to your right, just a few minutes away.

Alternatively, you can also disembark at Bayfront MRT station, accessible via the Downtown and Circle Lines. This option is ideal for those who wish to stroll through Gardens by the Bay before visiting Marina Barrage, as it is a bit further away.
