How to Check EZ-Link Transaction History Easily

Written by Syfa

The EZ-Link card is a prevalent electronic payment tool in Singapore, typically used for public transportation services, including MRT, buses, and at various merchants compatible with EZ-Link.

If you frequently use the EZ-Link card for transactions in Singapore, knowing how to check your transaction history easily and efficiently is essential. Monitoring your EZ-Link transaction history helps keep track of your spending and identify any unfamiliar transactions.

This article provides detailed steps on how to access your EZ-Link card transaction history, primarily using two applications - SingCARD and TL Simply Go. Read on for the complete guide.

If you're planning a trip to Singapore and would like to know how to purchase an EZ-Link card, kindly refer to the article linked below:

How to Check History Transactions through SingCARD App

The SingCARD app, developed by Akaikingyo Apps, is one of the most user-friendly EZ-Link card readers. It enables users to view transaction history and balance of EZ-Link and NETS FlashPay cards conveniently.

The app categorizes transactions by date and combines debit and refund transactions for bus/MRT rides, offering a straightforward analysis of your spending. To use SingCARD, you need a mobile phone equipped with NFC (Near-field communication). Follow these steps:

1. Download and Open SingCARD App

First, download and install the SingCARD app from the Play Store using this link. The app is very straightforward - no need to create an account or log in.

2. Attach the EZ-Link Card to Your Phone

Once you open the app, it will prompt you to scan your EZ-Link card using the back of your phone. This is where the NFC (Near-field Communication) feature of your phone comes into play, as I mentioned in the introduction. NFC enables your phone to read the EZ-Link card's information in real-time.

When your phone successfully scans the card, the screen will display essential information such as the remaining balance, the card's expiry date, and the CAN ID (which is a unique 16-digit card number). Quite straightforward, isn't it? Despite its simplicity, SingCARD is designed with a precise focus on user-friendliness and utility.

3. View Transaction History in the 'Transactions' Section

To check your transaction history, click on the 'Transactions' section. It will display the history of payments made using the EZ-Link card, including bus and MRT fares. The history also provides details like the time you boarded the bus/MRT and the bus number or MRT line code you used.

The SingCARD app also provides an analysis of your daily and monthly expenditures and highlights the types of transactions most frequently used. For instance, in my case, it was primarily used for public transportation (MRT).

The simplicity of the SingCARD app makes it an excellent tool for managing your expenses, especially for those residing in Singapore.

How to Check Transactions through the TL Simply Go App

The TL Simply Go app, developed by Transit Link Pte Ltd, Singapore, is another excellent tool for monitoring your EZ-Link card transactions.

This modern app not only lets you view your transaction history, but it also boasts other impressive features. Let's focus on how to use it to check your transaction history:

1. Download and Log In via the TL Simply Go App

Sign Up and Login

First, download and install the TL Simply Go app from Play Store (for Android users) or App Store (for iOS users). You can then register using your email, mobile number, and a password, followed by the usual login process.

While you can continue as a guest, access to transaction history is exclusive to registered accounts. As a guest, you can only check general information such as your EZ-Link card's ID number (16 digits) and the remaining balance.

For a more comprehensive experience, including viewing transaction history, signing up for an account is recommended.

2. Register Your EZ-Link Card on the Simply Go Account

Once you've created an account, your next step is to register your EZ-Link card within your newly formed Simply Go account. Registering your card is crucial since you can't track a card's transaction history unless it's registered. So, this is a vital step.

The easiest way to do this is by scanning the EZ-Link card using the back of your phone. This function, just like with the SingCARD app, is reliant on your phone having NFC support.

To start, click on "Scan Card for Details" from the home screen. Next, have your EZ-Link card ready and start scanning it by selecting the "Scan Your Card" button. Make sure to position the card correctly (vertically) for it to be read properly.

If successful, your phone will display the card's details - the 16-digit card number, remaining balance, and expiration date. After this, click on "Add Your Card". On the following page, you'll need to provide a description for the card. This can be anything you want; for example, I used "syfa ezlink".

There's no need to enter the CAN ID number as it's automatically filled in from the previous scan. Once you've done this, just click "Submit", and the registration process is complete!

3. Check Your Trip Details

Once you've completed all the steps, you're ready to check the transaction history of your EZ-Link card. To do this, return to the home screen and click on "Trip Details" in the bottom menu. In this section, you can select the month and date range of the transactions you want to view.

The options range from three days up to a month ago. However, if you want to see transactions from more than a month ago, you can select "Custom". For instance, I chose February 16-20 to review my EZ-Link transactions during my time in Singapore.

4. Review Your Transaction History

After setting the start and end date, you can now view your transaction history. Since I primarily used my EZ-Link card for public transportation, the majority of my transactions were for MRT and bus fares.

The transaction history provides a comprehensive record, including the date, departure and arrival times, MRT route and bus number, fare amount, and total cost spent.

Conclusion

When it comes to simplicity and ease of use, the SingCARD app stands out. With SingCARD, there's no need to create an account or register a card - simply scan the card on the back of your phone, and you can instantly view your transaction history.

However, if you require more advanced and comprehensive features, TL Simply Go is your answer. This app offers numerous excellent features, one of which includes the ability to add other contactless cards like VISA. Therefore, it's not just limited to EZ-Link cards - you can register other contactless cards as well.

Furthermore, Simply Go offers a 'Travel Guide' feature, providing extensive information on MRT routes, Bus Stations, and Bus Interchanges that can be beneficial when planning your journeys.

So, choose the app that best suits your needs. Both SingCARD and TL Simply Go have their own unique advantages and can provide a more comprehensive view of your travel expenses and patterns.
