How to Get to Sentosa Boardwalk by MRT and Bus

Written by Ganjar

The Sentosa Boardwalk is a scenic bridge that links Sentosa Island to the mainland of Singapore. It's an alternative route to the island besides the Sentosa Express monorail and various bus services.

You can easily walk across the Sentosa Boardwalk. But it's not just a regular pedestrian bridge—it’s full of facilities and attractions that make the walk enjoyable.

If you're planning a visit, this guide will show you how to reach the Sentosa Boardwalk by MRT or bus. First, let's explore some of the cool features you can find on the boardwalk.

What's on the Sentosa Boardwalk?

The Sentosa Boardwalk is more than a mere connector; it's a destination in itself, offering a unique experience right in Singapore. Here’s what makes it special:

1. Travelator

Opened in 2011, the boardwalk is about 600 meters long. While that might seem like a long walk, you won’t have to worry about getting tired.

There are travelators (moving walkways) running in both directions, making the journey easy. Plus, the travelators are covered with a roof, so you’re protected from the sun and rain.

2. Benches Overlooking the Sea

The best time to visit the boardwalk is in the late afternoon, leading up to sunset. This is when you can relax on one of the many benches, feel the cool sea breeze, and watch the bustling marine traffic.

These seating spots are strategically placed for the best views over the water, making them perfect for a peaceful break or a picturesque photo opportunity.

3. Thematic Gardens & Art Installations

One of the highlights of Sentosa Boardwalk is its fresh atmosphere. Along the bridge, you can explore five thematic gardens, each adorned with a variety of plants.

Additionally, scattered throughout the bridge are art installations, including sculptures. These statues not only enhance the beauty of the bridge but also make great photo spots.

4. Food & Beverage Stalls

If you get hungry or thirsty, there are several stalls on Sentosa Boardwalk selling food and drinks. On weekends, there’s often a bazaar offering a variety of goods, making the walk even more enjoyable.
